Could someone tell me why there is an 8A and 8B backhoe available for the 1070 JD. I ordered a new backhoe bucket from the JD dealer and he informed me that JD makes 2 backhoes. So I am wondering what the differences are?

I have an 8A backhoe on a 1070 tractor which I just purchased. I got the operators manual from John Deere techincal publications (800 522-7448). From looking at the serial number information it looks like the 8B is a newer version of the 8A. Both have 8'6" digging depth. The main difference seems to be in the backhoe control valve main relief setting which is 1900 psi on the 8A and 2200 psi on the 8B. This increased pressure increases the digging force by about 400 lbs. All the other specs and dimentions are the same. ....
